The role of an Exercise Physiologist is to help manage or prevent chronic disease and injuries through evidence-based exercise prescription. At Sports Focus Physiotherapy our EP will educate and guide you through each stage of treatment from the initial assessment through to self-management.
Alexandra is our Exercise Physiologist who currently treats from our Mount Pritchard and Castle Hill clinics. Having access to a fully equipped gym and hydrotherapy pool means Alex is able to provide a range of exercise interventions for conditions or injuries such as:
- Type 2 diabetes
- Chronic/persisting pain
- Pre and post-operative procedures
- Cardiovascular disease
- Falls prevention
Exercise physiology services we offer
Hydrotherapy – our water-based exercise programs are perfect for those who have recently undergone surgery or those who suffer from persisting pain. This low impact environment allows our clients to move their joints and muscles more easily through ranges they find too painful or difficult on land.
Gym – fully equipped gym allows our programs to incorporate exercise requiring only body weight for those only beginning their rehabilitation journey all the way through to a more intense exercise program using heavier weights or machines for those more advanced in their rehab program
