If the recent Pre-season SSN #TeamGirls Tournament in Brisbane on the 8-10th March is any indication to go by, we are in for a cracker of a season for the upcoming SSN.

For the first time all the franchises in the SSN came together for a pre-season tournament to test the waters and get the players ready the season proper.

There was some amazing netball played.  I am continually amazed at the athleticism and abilities of all these players, but particularly the NSW Swifts.

This is now my second season as Physiotherapist for this proud club, and it continues to be a real pleasure to work with these tremendous athletes and devoted performance team. The article attached from Women’s Health magazine about the toughness of Paige Hadley, pays tribute to how hard these girls work and indeed how far we have come in recognizing the abilities of these athletes.

Unfortunately, Paige suffered an elbow during the first game of the tournament when she was going for an intercept, leaving her with a nasty laceration which needed stitching.

We assessed Paige after the game using a SCAT test and she passed with flying colours enabling her to play out the rest of the tournament for three more games.

Suffice to say Paige played brilliantly which landed her back in the Australian Diamonds squad. Well done Paige.

I think I speak on behalf of all the players, coaches and support staff when I say that we can’t wait until the season starts with the double-header and local derby of the NSW Swifts against the Giants on the 28th April.

Get some tickets and come along and enjoy the action.
