Chloe Esposito - Simply Inspirational.
These few words from abc.net sum up her road to Olympic glory. With such a passionate and close nit family to support her along the way, we were not surprised to see her fight to the end to come up with that very special Gold Medal performance.
Inspired by her father's feats she set her sights on the Olympics, although she at first was not attracted by her father's sport.
But with athletics, swimming and riding on her plate she decided to take a stab at the other two disciplines — although her training schedule was complicated by the fact that she trained with a different club for each.
In 2014 she moved with her father and brother to Hungary to focus on her training and the move has paid off with solid World Cup performances and, now, a gold that had her beaming on the medal podium.
"I was just thinking of all the hard training I've put in in the past four years," she said. "It's been a tough road."
At Sports Focus Physiotherapy In Sydney we have had the pleasure of having Chloe as one of our patients, and can attest to the determination this young lady has.
I had the pleasure of working with Chloe earlier in the year as we helped her rahabilitate through a calf and achilles tendon injury that even threatened her participation in RIO.
Over the past 25 years I have worked with many High profile sports men and women, all of whom have demonstrated the traits you would expect from athletes performing at that level.
However Chloe has the most outstanding attitudes towards her training and preperation for her chosen sport. She is one of the most humble and engaging young ladies that I have been fortunate enough to meet, let alone work with.
All congratulations go to Chloe and the amazing family that she has backing her all the way.
